There are few instructions to keep in mind while taking clear aligner treatment. The instructions are as given below:

• Remove your aligner while eating or drinking: You need to remove your aligners while eating or drinking. You can only have plain water with aligners in your mouth.

• Clean your aligners every day: Plaque and bacteria will accumulate in your aligner trays as you wear them. Hence, you need to clean your aligners gently using foam and soft bristle toothbrush and rinse them twice daily. You also have to rinse them after every meal before placing them in your mouth.

• Soak your aligner at least once a day: Soak your aligners once a day to keep them smell free and looking new. You can use cleansing tablet or special soap water made for aligners.

• Brush and Floss your teeth before wearing aligners: Always ensure that your teeth are clean before placing aligners in your mouth. If you don’t, the food particles might get stuck between your teeth inside the aligner trays leading to other dental problems.

• Don’t leave the trays out: You need to keep your aligners in aligner case, when you are not using them. If you leave them in open air there is a risk of exposing them to airborne pathogens, bacteria.

• Keep your aligners away from heat: As they are made of plastic material, if you rinse them in hot water or drink hot beverages or keep them in hot car they might warp. This will directly affect your fit and could ultimately impact your final result.

• Wear schedule: Patient has to wear each aligner set for 15 days and then move on to the next set. You have to wear it for at least 22 hours a day to see the consistent and exact given end results. If you don’t follow the wear schedule, it will take longer period of time to achieve the end results.
